WORLD OCEAN'S DAY
WHAT IS IT?
Today is World Ocean's Day- a day when we come together to celebrate the diversity and wonders of the ocean and think seriously about it's future. Every day we should be thinking of how our choices impact the ocean but today is a special day set aside for extreme clean up, reflection, and education of those around us. It happens every June 8 but some countries celebrate it a few days before or after and some make June an entire month of Ocean Awareness.
WHAT'S GOING ON?
This year the official World Ocean's Day site has decided to target youth as bringers of the message of change "Youth: The Next Wave for Change". Knowing that it has very often in history been the young people of each generation banding together to bring about change WOD2011 hopes to follow through with that and achieve
