You guys voted on it! So here it is! This is my version of a mermaid! I WILL be doing a video tutorial on this, I'll most likely film it tomorrow! (So get excited!) You can check out my youtube channel here: [link]

It's hard to tell here but everything is just covered in sparkles! You'll be able to see it in the video though!

So I've put scales up on the forehead (lots of sparkles) blue fin shaped eyes that fade to black (lots of sparkles) and green wispy things that resemble seaweed. Then on my lips is just a really shiny pink/purple with blue glitter (Yay! More sparkles!)

If you have more Halloween make-up tutorial requests, feel free to ask!

As always, the colour is dulled on here, so check out my facebook or tumblr to see the colour better!

Oh my gosh i love this!!! first off the blue makeup makes her eyes sparkle with a hazel / brown color. i love how precise the shininess is on the scaling effect. the hair looks beautiful with the shining going throughout it and how its a red / brown color. the complexion is perfect on her face. i also love the lipstick color. it wors well with the blue and see weed effect on it. the last thing i have to say is that the diamond necklace is a nice touch. thank you for sharing this with the people of DeviantArt

First of all I want to say that with the recent time I am a fan of mermaids and I am very glad that someone here (on our beloved DA) had show us these beautiful and mystic creatures in such a specific way! Really, I saw many very talented and high qualified pictures but mermaid make-up is some very special and unusual artwork!

Well, let’s go straight to the artwork by itself. I love how the artist kept the "classical for mermaids" palette of colors (green as algae, blue as water) and of course I could not ignore the red hair of the model which comes to the most famous mermaid from our (most of us) childhood - Ariel. All this is very classic but nevertheless author added many special/specific elements in her work. These will be the drawn algae in each corner of the eyes what is new because I haven't saw this element ever before. And what is also a little bit strange for me is the top line of blue part in the make-up. Why is it strange? I do like how the lower line goes and emphasize the eyes but the top one finish straight "in the middle" of the eyes, but the blue make-up continuous. Maybe if those lines would go both from the corners of the eyes it would look a little bit better. Nevertheless the abundance of all the make-up on the face of the model doesn't let this spoil the whole look. One more thing confuses me. In the green part of make-up we can see her dark, as a feather of a crow, eyebrows, but then (and we still see it) the eyebrows are calked. I wanted to point on this element because I didn't get the sense, why the artist needed to hide only the part of the models eyebrows. Now I can go to the green part of the make-up. I really like how it unapparent goes from the bridge of the nose and cover the entire forehead and even a little bit the hair line. This shows how attentively and thoroughly the artist was doing her work, but nevertheless I have one "but" even here! I said that I love that the artist had used the green color in her work and I really love all the green palette in this work, but all those "spots" reminds me not a mermaid but another amphibia - frog. I didn't say that I do not like frogs, on the contrary I love them very much, but nevertheless how I would love them, they won't become mermaids (prince maybe)!

I love all the sparkles elements in this artwork. I don’t know how it looks in the reality, but I can see how shinny and sparkly it is even on the photo, so I would not fully agree with the author with “it's hard to tell here but everything is just covered in sparkles” because I see it right here! About all the sparkle elements I can truly say brilliant because it brings something very special in this artwork, so it became less static then it could be!

Well, I still think that this is very special and unusual artwork and I can say that I love it in spite of every criticisms that I said (I want to remind that it was only my own point of view and I believe that most of the watchers may be just crazy about the art of this artist). Thank you for showing us your incredible talent!

With all my respect.
