so, ive noticed on every single piece, you always use liner on the waterline, and shadow on the bottom lid. is there a reason for this besides you find it works for you? if tried it on me a couple of times, and i feel like color on the bottom lid just makes my eyes look too deeply set, or big bags or something, and the water line always smudges off after a bit.
When I don't have eyeliner or shadow underneath my eye, I look tired and my eyes look puffy. The black helps bring down the puff. The waterline always rubs off, but it stays just where the lashes start, so it keeps my eyes looking smoother.
Thanks so much for this! I am definitely doing this (will have to show pictures). I have a few questions though? 1.) What was the brand of white eyeliner you used? Usually the ones I find aren't that bright? But that one seemed really nice! 2.) I know in this video you suggest Maybelline's Fake Lash, but have you ever used Neutrogena Healthy Lengths or Urban Decay's Big Fatty? Just curious. In the past when I've used Fake Lash it kinda has a tendency to clump up and look outrageous after the first two coats? 3.) If you've never used Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil- I swear by it. I admit it IS a bit pricy at $18 a piece but the colors are fantastic, the pigment stays on all day, and a single one lasts forever. [link]
1. Rimmel Kohl Pencil eyeliner. It's really nice and goes on super smooth! 2. I actually haven't! I never have a problem with it clumping unless I wait too long between coats or just pile waaaaay to much on! haha! It's been pretty good to me! But I'll definitely look into those two! I never really tried any Urban Decay stuff but I've heard a bunch like it! 3. Same answer as before! haha!
I wanted to tell you! I bought the Rimmel Khol pencil eyeliner? AMAZING! Thanks so much for the tip! <3 Also, I was reading some of your old journals and you wrote one on MAC? I'm not the biggest fan of MAC because it's ridiculously expensive, but I was honestly shocked about that tidbit of information (I mean, who sells makeup they haven't tested?). I don't really use MAC anymore (other than their brown eyeliner and a chocolate shadow I got as a gift), so I guess it's not really a problem... but it's sad that their products are the way they are? Some of their colors are really nice (and apparently unusable). Also... Someone commented saying that "mineral oils" and "isopropyl alcohol" are hazardous for your health and that you should watch out for makeup with them in it? I come from a family that's based off of cosmetology and medicine (mom and dad are surgeons and who are/work with medical cosmetologists)... mineral oil and alcohols (astringents) are almost always used in makeup and they are NOT harmful unless someone's being an idiot about it? Mineral oils when used in excess can clog pores and alcohols that are overused on skin can over-dry it. It's all about moderation and learning to use makeup correctly. Plus, isopropyl alcohol in particular is used in hospitals to clean wounds (and at home I guess)? So it's more of an added disinfectant to makeup/body products? I didn't mean to sound like a know it all? Just figured you should know/have that cleared up? Anyways, thanks again!
Haha totally! You know, I'm curious? Did you go to beauty school or anything or are you self taught? I don't mean to be rude or prying... I'm just honestly curious. Your work is very clean and steady (which is difficult to do with eyeliner/makeup on yourself). Plus you have a really strong grasp on color? I'm actually headed to school for it right now and it's so wonderful to look at your stuff and see "Hey, it's going to be awesome, just like this!". Also, since we were speaking of Mac? There's one product from Mac I will never give up on? It's called "Fix+". It's a spray that you lightly spray on after your finished with your makeup? I find that when I wear a lot of powder eyeshadow or blush (apply at 8am) it's gone by around noon? Or it's all over my face... even when I use primer? This spray was recommended by a friend at school who's really on the know in terms of makeup? It holds my makeup on ALL DAY and to top it off has healthy moisturizers so my skin doesn't feel heavy or caked? I don't mean to sound like a sales rep, haha, but I know that passing on stuff to fellow makeup lovers is always nice? If you haven't tried it, get a small bottle (they're like $10?) and totally try it! (Also, can you tell I'm starved for makeup conversation? I'm totally spamming you with info/messages! I promise I'll let you be! <3)
XD hahaha I don't even have to lower my brows... X3 Oh, i found a picture! xD [link] Just to photobucket ^^ I had never seen my lashes from above before i took this. And another... Beware of staring eyes xD [link]
